What is PESCO and which areas does it serve?
PESCO — Peshawar Electric Supply Company — is the sole electricity distributor for almost the whole province. Its territory runs from Peshawar and Mardan down through Kohat and Bannu to Dera Ismail Khan, and out to the Hazara division (Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra) and the Malakand division (Swat, Buner, Chitral, Dir). If your meter sits anywhere in the settled districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PESCO is who's billing you — city or valley, it doesn't matter.
The company grew out of WAPDA's Power Wing restructuring and was incorporated in 1998 under a NEPRA distribution licence. It runs consumer operations through 9 operation circles, and like every other DISCO in the country, its billing and MIS backbone shares infrastructure with PITC — that's why you'll occasionally spot a bill-checking portal branded PITC instead of PESCO. Same data, different label.

Applying for a New PESCO Connection
New PESCO connections go through the ENC (Electronic New Connection) portal, covering domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural categories — each with its own document list and fee schedule. Terrain adds a wrinkle here that flatter provinces don't deal with: hillside connections in Hazara and Malakand often need extra survey and pole work compared to a straightforward urban meter install in Peshawar.
PESCO also runs a CNIC data-collection drive tying every connection to the account holder's national ID, meant to stop unauthorized ownership transfers and keep records aligned with NADRA. Worth doing even on an old connection that's never had it updated.

Net Metering for Solar Consumers
Consumers with rooftop solar can apply for net metering under NEPRA's regulations — any surplus power your panels generate gets exported to the grid and credited against future bills.
The application goes through your local PESCO Sub-Division office: submit your CNIC, latest bill, and meter photographs in writing. PESCO staff inspect the setup and issue a demand notice before the installation gets final approval.

Frequently asked questions
Everything Khyber Pakhtunkhwa consumers actually ask about PESCO bills.
Enter your 14-digit reference number or 10-digit consumer number in the checker above. Your PESCO bill check online loads in seconds — no login, no registration.
No. PESCO's system doesn't support looking up a bill by CNIC — you need the reference number or consumer number, both printed on any past bill. If you've genuinely lost both, call helpline 118 with your CNIC, name, and address and PESCO staff can retrieve your account details.
Not directly — a name alone can't uniquely identify a connection, since multiple consumers can share the same name. You'll need the reference or consumer number. If you don't have either, the 118 helpline can look up your account using your name and address together.
Run the checker above with your reference or consumer number, then tap Download PDF once the bill loads. This PESCO online duplicate bill is accepted at banks the same as the original paper copy.
Multiply your units consumed by your tariff slab rate, then add GST (17%), electricity duty (1.5%), and the TV fee, and factor in the fuel price adjustment for that month. It won't be exact since the FPA changes monthly, but it gets you close to the real number before the bill is issued.
JazzCash, EasyPaisa, mobile banking apps, and most bank websites accept PESCO payments — enter your reference number when asked for the biller account, and you'll get an SMS receipt within minutes.
PESCO's own site is pesco.com.pk, but you don't need to visit it just to check a bill — the checker above pulls the same live billing data using your reference or consumer number.
Yes. PESCO — Peshawar Electric Supply Company — is the only distributor for Peshawar and, in fact, for nearly all of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Any electricity bill issued in Peshawar or the surrounding districts is a PESCO bill.
The reference number is 14 digits, printed in bold at the top-left of your bill. The consumer number is 10 digits and sits just below your name and address. Either one pulls up the same PESCO bill.
Bills are due 30 days after the issue date. Miss it, and a 10% late surcharge is added automatically the next day.
Compare this month's units against last month's. A sudden jump usually means a misread meter or a tariff slab change. If the numbers don't add up, call 118 or file a complaint through pesco.com.pk.
Enter your reference or consumer number in the checker above. Alongside the current bill, you'll see recent billing history to track your consumption month to month.
Yes. WAPDA used to handle power distribution across the whole country before it was split into regional companies like PESCO, LESCO, and MEPCO. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, people often still say 'WAPDA bill' out of habit, but if you're in PESCO's territory, it's a PESCO bill you're checking.
Completely. No account, no charges, no hidden subscription — just enter your number and check.
Yes. Once your bill loads on the checker above, the Download PDF button gives you a bank-ready copy — the same one accepted at payment counters.
